“ We were in Sackville for a few hours while our daughter was swimming at the local university pool. We were looking for a place to have a couple of beers to kill some time. After trying one place that was closed for renovations, we stumbled upon The Painted Pony. Don't let the exterior fool you; when you walk in, the decor is classy for what I'd consider a pub. We had already eaten, so we were only looking for drinks. We opted to sit at the bar. The bartender asked us what we'd like for drinks. I'm a stout drinker, and unfortunately, they don't carry stout beer, but he recommended a local New Brunswick brewer's beer, which was a darker red beer. The bartender was kind and witty. He'd often engage in conversation with us while still serving customers and thanking everyone as they left the pub. As it turns out, he is part owner of the Painted Pony. He mentioned that all food is prepared on site and all deserts are made in-house and they have a company that makes a special ice cream for them. Next time we are in the Sackville NB area, we'll be sure to stop in again for food. ”
